Transforming Lives: The Heart of IFGF Semarang

At IFGF Semarang, we believe the church is more than a building—it is a living movement of people transformed by Jesus and sent to transform the world.
This is the picture of the church we envision: a vibrant community where every person encounters God, grows in Christ, serves with joy, and brings life to others.

1) A Church of Salvation & New Beginnings

A church where people experience the grace of Jesus, receive salvation, embrace a new destiny and make Jesus the Lord of their lives (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

2) A Church That Loves the Lost

A church that never loses its compassion for the lost (Luke 19:10; Matthew 9:36; Jude 1:22–23).
A people who open wide their arms—listening, caring, and helping those who are hurting, forgotten, or searching for hope. A church driven by a heart that reflects the Father: none should perish, all should come home.

3) A Church Where Young People Belong

A church where young people are welcomed just as they are, understood and find a home and family—where they can express their love for Jesus in their own way (1Timothy 4:12; Mark 10:14; Psalm 92:13).

A church where the next generation passionately expresses their love for Jesus in fresh and authentic ways.

4) A Church of Deep Devotion

A church where every person honours God and experiences a deep, loving relationship with Jesus as the heavenly Bridegroom (John 15:4–5; Revelation 19:7; 1 John 4:19).

A bride deeply in love with her Bridegroom—Jesus—living in daily fellowship with Him.

5) A Church That Builds Strong Lives

A church where lives are built in personal life, family, work and ministry—so that people bear fruit in every sphere (Psalm 1:1–3; John 15:8; Colossians 3:17,23–24).
A church that empowers people to bear good fruit in every season and every sphere of life.

6) A Church that Forms Disciples

A church where people grow toward maturity through a discipleship process, so their lives reflect the character of Christ (Ephesians 4:13–15; Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 8:29).

A community where people practice the ways of Jesus, discover His truth, and become more like Him in character and lifestyle.

7) A Church That Releases Purpose

A church where each person discovers their God-given calling, finds life’s purpose, uses their full potential, becomes a winner in life and impacts their world (Ephesians 2:10; Matthew 5:14–16; Daniel 11:32b).

A place where people are equipped to live out their purpose, maximize their gifts, and win in life—so they can influence and transform the world around them.

8) A Church of Authentic Community

A church where everyone is part of a small-group community (our “iCare” groups), where they love one another, strengthen one another and build up one another as God’s family (Acts 2:46–47; Hebrews 10:24–25; Galatians 6:2).

A place where everyone finds family—not just a crowd.

9) A Church Where Everyone Serves

A church where everyone finds a place of service in the Body of Christ and finds meaningful life; a church where whole families serve God together (Rom.12:4-5; Joshua 24:15; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7)

Serving becomes joy, not obligation; calling, not duty.
A church where families serve God together—side by side—generation to generation.

10) A Church That Impacts Nations

A church that is actively engaged in bringing the gospel to nations—and whose presence brings tangible impact to society, our city and our country (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8; Jeremiah 29:7).

A church whose presence transforms society—economically, socially, and spiritually—bringing blessing to the city and nation where God has placed it.
A church with a global spirit and a local heart.

Conclusion

This is the church we dream of.
This is the church we are becoming.
A church that reflects Jesus, transforms lives, and carries the gospel to the ends of the earth.
